Sony’s HD DI Process

Sony will be holding a discussion titled “RGB HD Efficiencies in the Digital Intermediate Process” on 7th July (as far as I an tell– there appear to be several conflicting dates on the information page) at Video Post & Transfer in Dallas.
It looks like it will outline Sony’s propsed HDCAM SR video-based infrastructure for the DI process, a topic covered in a paper of the same name by Rick Harding.

UPDATE:
I received some more information from Rick to clarify the content. It seems that the team have devised a method of using an HDCAM SR workflow to complement 4k production. It’s a little complicated, but I’ll do my best to try and explain the theory in this article.
